Message for Parents
We founded Wilderness Treks, combining our love for teaching young adults
with our passion for the wilderness and adventure. We, with all our passion,
believe that the interaction at an international level widens one's horizons
& perspectives. This interaction helps in making one more tolerant,
compassionate, understanding and helpful towards other fellow humans &
thus being a complete human being.
We, also, believe that outdoor adventures make a significant contribution
to the development of young people. Skills and attributes such as
leadership, and teamwork are critical if young people are to be equipped for
the challenges they face whilst at school, and as they enter the world of
work.
Keeping the above as our prime focus, we have partnered with some of the
leading adventure camps in the World like American Adventures (AAVE),
Venture Europe & Sail Caribbean.
Each kid who is with us will grow by successfully confronting a series of
physical and interpersonal challenges. Kids enhance this growth by learning
to communicate effectively with their peers and leaders on a feelings level.
Within this framework,
we would like each kid...
- To return home a more confident, more
communicative, more grounded individual.
- To reach beyond his or her perceived
limitations.
- To develop basic skills necessary to
communicate on an a feelings level and share in the problem-solving
and decision-making of the group.
- To learn how to use and enjoy the
wilderness and backcountry areas with minimum impact.
- To develop basic skills associated with
the successful performance of any of the following activities: rock
climbing, backpacking, canoeing, off-road biking, surfing,
mountaineering, kayaking, white water rafting, scuba diving,
snorkeling, sailing, sea kayaking, bicycle touring.
- To learn how to take care of the
natural environment through sound ecological and environmental
techniques.
